Kevin Pereira is an American television host, comedian, producer, and entrepreneur, best known for co-hosting the technology and pop culture program Attack of the Show! on G4 from 2005 to 2012. Born Kevin Elder Pereira on December 28, 1982, in San Leandro, California, and raised in Antioch, he developed an early interest in media, launching a gaming and internet culture-focused radio show called Pointless Audio at age 14 under the pseudonym Captain Immy, which featured prank calls and was syndicated on gaming websites. After studying film and television production at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco on a scholarship, Pereira worked as a network administrator at an internet service provider and in television production before breaking into on-air hosting. Pereira joined G4 as a co-host on The Screen Savers in late 2004, transitioning to the newly created Attack of the Show! , where he served as co-host with Olivia Munn and others, producing over 1,500 hours of live content focused on gadgets, gaming, and digital culture. He also hosted or co-hosted other G4 programs like Arena and Large Dangerous Rocket Ships , establishing himself as a key figure in the network's early success before its 2012 cancellation. Following G4's initial shutdown, Pereira expanded into game shows, hosting Let's Ask America on Game Show Network from 2015 to 2016, and hosted Hack My Life on truTV from 2015 to 2018. As a stand-up comedian and writer, Pereira has performed live and incorporated humor into his hosting style, often drawing on pop culture and technology themes. In 2021, he returned to the revived G4 network, reprising roles on Attack of the Show! and other segments alongside Adam Sessler until the network's closure on November 9, 2022. More recently, Pereira co-founded the AI-driven game platform And Then in 2025 with producer Gavin Purcell, focusing on interactive audio experiences for gaming and entertainment . He continues to produce podcasts like Pointless with Kevin Pereira , discussing innovation , entrepreneurship , and digital media . Kevin Pereira was born on December 28, 1982, in San Leandro, California . He was raised in Antioch, a suburb in the East Bay Area, after his family relocated there during his early years. Pereira hails from a middle-class family with Portuguese and Italian heritage; his father, Elder Pereira, is of Portuguese descent from the Azores , while his mother, Barbara Pereira, is American-born with one-half Italian ancestry, along with English, German, Scottish, and distant Jersey Channel Islander and Dutch roots. He has an older brother named Brian, and his mother worked as a staff member at Black Diamond Middle School in Antioch. The family lived in the Antioch community near Deer Valley High School, where Pereira spent his formative pre-teen years immersed in the local suburban environment. During his childhood, Pereira developed an early fascination with technology and media through family influences and hands-on experimentation. At age seven, he created an online gaming bulletin board , marking the start of his digital explorations. By age eight, he began disassembling computers and providing tech support for his relatives, a role encouraged by his mother, which solidified his reputation as the family's go-to problem-solver and shaped his resourceful and inquisitive personality. These experiences in the supportive yet tech-reliant household laid the groundwork for his later interests without formal guidance. Pereira developed an early passion for media production during his teenage years, beginning at age 14 when he hosted the internet radio show Pointless Audio under the pseudonym Captain Immy. The program, which featured prank calls, gaming discussions, music, and internet culture, was distributed via RealAudio format on various gaming websites. This initial foray evolved into video content with Pointless TV , and later, Pereira launched the comedy website LickMySweaty.
