Plato, who was the student of Socrates and the teacher of Aristotle, is generally considered to be the most important figure in the development of philosophy. Plato also played a critical role in the development of Western religion, science, and mathematics. Phaedo is one of Plato's most famous works as it details Socrates' final days.
